Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF merger free and secure?
Yes. Nextooly is completely free and 100% secure. Unlike other sites, we do not upload your files to a server. All processing happens locally in your browser.
Does this tool work on Mac and Windows?
Yes, it works on any device (Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS) with a modern web browser like Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
Why were some of my PDFs skipped?
The tool automatically skips password-protected (encrypted) or corrupted files. Please remove the password using your PDF viewer before merging.
Can I reorder the PDFs before merging?
Yes. Simply drag and drop the files in the list to rearrange them, or use the 'Sort by file name' button.
Is there a file size limit?
We recommend a total size of under 60 MB for the best performance, as the merging happens entirely within your browser's memory.
Why can't I merge password-protected PDFs?
For security reasons, our browser-based tool cannot decrypt locked files. You must unlock them on your computer first.
How do I save the combined file?
After clicking 'Merge', the file is generated instantly. You can enter a custom name or leave it blank to save it as 'merged.pdf'.
Why does merging take time for large files?
Since the processing happens on your device (not a supercomputer server), the speed depends on your computer's CPU and the complexity of the PDF pages.
