How to convert PDF pages to images (PNG or JPG)
Upload your PDF file
Click the upload area or drag and drop a PDF file into the box. The tool validates the file and detects the number of pages.
Enter password if required
If your PDF is password-protected, enter the password when prompted so the tool can open the document.
Choose output format and page range
Pick PNG or JPG as the output format and optionally enter a page range such as 1-5,8 to convert only specific pages. Leave the field empty to convert all pages.
Start the conversion
Click the Convert to Images button. A progress bar shows how many pages have been processed and the current percentage.
Download your images
Scroll through the page thumbnails and download individual pages, or use the Download All button to get every page as a single ZIP file.
Frequently asked questions
Does this PDF to Images tool upload my PDF to any server?
No. All PDF processing and page rendering happen entirely inside your browser using PDF.js. Your PDF file never leaves your device.
Why does the tool ask for a PDF password?
If the PDF is encrypted, PDF.js requires the password to decrypt and read its pages. Without the correct password, pages cannot be rendered into images.
What page formats can I export?
You can export each page as PNG (lossless) or JPEG (smaller file size). Each page is generated as an individual downloadable image.
How do I extract only certain pages?
Use the page range field. Examples: `1-3`, `5`, `2,4,6`, or combined `1-2,5,8-10`. Leaving the field empty converts all pages.
Why do large PDFs take longer to convert?
Each page must be rendered at 2× scale onto a canvas before being converted to an image. Large pages or many pages take more processing time in the browser.
Why are page previews sometimes blank or low-resolution?
If your device is low on memory or the PDF contains extremely large pages, the browser may struggle to render them. Reducing page range or closing other tabs usually helps.
Can I convert multiple PDFs at once?
No. This tool processes one PDF at a time. After extracting images, you may load another PDF and repeat the process.
Why does the tool say the PDF is corrupted or unreadable?
This happens when the file is damaged, password-protected without entering the correct password, or uses features PDF.js cannot parse.
Why do downloaded files have names like page-1.png?
Each image is downloaded individually using the page number and output format. This keeps the file list clean and easy to manage.
