What color harmony modes are available?
The generator offers six modes: Analogous (colors next to each other on the color wheel), Complementary (opposite colors), Triadic (three evenly spaced), Split-Complementary, Monochromatic (one hue at different lightness levels), and fully Random.
How do I keep a color I like while generating new ones?
Click the lock icon on any color swatch. Locked colors stay in place while unlocked ones are regenerated when you click Generate or press the spacebar.
Can I fine-tune individual colors?
Yes. Click any swatch to expand it and reveal Hue, Saturation, and Lightness sliders plus a HEX input field. Adjust to your exact preference.
What export formats are supported?
You can export your palette as CSS custom properties (:root variables), SCSS variables, a Tailwind CSS config snippet, or a plain JSON array of hex codes.
Does the tool check color accessibility?
Yes. Each swatch shows WCAG 2.1 contrast ratios for both white and black text, with AA pass/fail indicators to help you build accessible designs.
Is there a keyboard shortcut to generate palettes?
Press the spacebar to instantly generate a new palette. This works as long as you are not focused on a text input field.
Does this tool upload my data?
No. All color calculations, palette generation, and exports happen entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
