Convert HEIC to JPG online for free with private, in-browser processing.
Nextooly's HEIC to JPG converter turns iPhone and iPad HEIC/HEIF photos into universally supported JPG files directly in your browser — no uploads, no sign-up, and zero server processing. HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format introduced with iOS 11.
It compresses images to roughly half the size of JPG while maintaining the same visual quality — but that efficiency comes at a cost: Windows PCs cannot open HEIC files without extra codecs, most websites and web forms reject HEIC uploads, and older email clients and apps simply don't recognise the format. Converting to JPG solves every one of these problems instantly.
Example
Input: A HEIC file or pasted heic content you want to transform.
Output: A JPG result you can download, copy, or reuse immediately.

What is HEIC format?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's photo format used by iPhone and iPad since iOS 11. It uses the HEVC codec to compress images to about half the size of JPG without a visible quality difference. While great for storage on Apple devices, it has poor compatibility outside the Apple ecosystem.
Why won't Windows open my HEIC files?
Windows does not include a HEIC decoder by default. You need to install the free 'HEIF Image Extensions' and 'HEVC Video Extensions' from the Microsoft Store — or simply convert to JPG first, which works everywhere without any installation.
Is HEIC better quality than JPG?
Technically yes — HEIC delivers similar visual quality at roughly half the file size. However, JPG is universally supported across all operating systems, browsers, apps, and websites. For sharing, emailing, or uploading, JPG is almost always the right choice.
Does converting HEIC to JPG reduce image quality?
Slightly, because JPG uses lossy compression. At quality settings of 85–95% the difference is invisible to the naked eye. Use the quality slider to balance file size and visual fidelity.
Which apps and websites don't accept HEIC files?
Most Windows applications (older Photoshop, Word, Paint), the majority of web upload forms, LinkedIn, many email clients, and any platform that hasn't added Apple HEIC support. When in doubt, convert to JPG first.
Is this HEIC to JPG converter private?
Yes. Conversion happens locally in your browser using the heic2any library. Your HEIC file is never uploaded to any server.
How do I convert an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG?
Upload one `.heic` or `.heif` file, adjust quality if needed, click Convert, then download the `.jpg` file.
Does this support HEIF as well as HEIC?
Yes. The tool accepts both `.heic` and `.heif` extensions — they use the same underlying format.
Can I batch convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Not yet. This tool converts one file at a time. Upload, convert, download, then repeat for the next file.
Will the downloaded JPG keep my original filename?
Yes. The original filename is preserved and only the extension changes to `.jpg`.
