How to convert PNG images to JPG
Upload a PNG image
Drag and drop a PNG file into the upload area or click to browse and select a PNG image from your device. The tool validates that the file is a PNG and shows its name and size.
Adjust JPG quality
Use the JPG Quality slider in the Advanced Settings section to choose a balance between file size and image quality. Lower values create smaller files, higher values preserve more detail.
Start PNG to JPG conversion
Click the Convert to JPG button. The tool draws your PNG onto a canvas with a white background to handle transparency and then encodes it as a JPG image.
Preview the converted JPG
Once conversion finishes, the right-hand preview panel displays the new JPG image at a scaled size so you can check how it looks before downloading.
Download the JPG file
Click the Download JPG button to save the converted image. The output file name is based on the original PNG name with a .jpg extension.
Reset or try another image
Use the Reset button to clear the current selection and output. Then upload another PNG file if you need to convert more images.
Frequently asked questions
Does this PNG to JPG tool upload my images to any server?
No. The conversion is performed entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. Your PNG file never leaves your device.
Why does the tool only accept PNG files?
The converter checks both the MIME type and the file extension. Only .png images are supported to ensure accurate decoding and reliable conversion.
Will converting PNG to JPG affect image quality?
Yes, JPG is a lossy format. You can control the compression level using the quality slider. Higher quality produces clearer images but larger file sizes.
What happens to transparency when converting PNG to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas in the PNG become white in the output JPG.
Why is only one image processed at a time?
This tool is designed for single-image conversion. After downloading your JPG, you can upload another PNG and repeat the process.
Why does conversion sometimes fail?
Failures may occur if the PNG is corrupted, extremely large, or the browser cannot decode the file. Refreshing the page or using a different browser often resolves the issue.
Why is the output name based on the original PNG?
The tool keeps your original filename and simply replaces the .png extension with .jpg to maintain consistent naming.
What does the JPG quality slider do?
The slider adjusts JPG compression between 10% and 100%. Higher values preserve more detail; lower values create smaller files.
